REPORT ON ELIMINATION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN PROGRAM

Women’s committee of WREU (E & M) branch DAHOD observed the elimination of violence against women on 27th NOVEMBER 2010 which was organized at main porch of railway main hospital Dahod. The program was organized appropriately as the Com. I.J.Ramwani the chairman of the branch was on the chair of the program and Dr. Sudhakar Sharma the Sr. DMO(Adm.) and Dr. M. Bhaskaran the Sr. DMO was present as chief guest and special guest respectively. They were welcomed by handing over a flower bouquet to them by the activists of women’s committee. In this program the motto was to elaborate the non violence behavior towards women and Mrs. P.S. Harsh the convener of women’s committee WREU (E&M) DHD in her addressed about the rights of women and described a small story about the brave Mirabal sisters who were belonging to Dominican Republic and protested against the ruler of that dynasty. Com. Sunil Harsh in his speech had addressed to large gathering about that the question is not that why women’s committee of WREU had not observed this day on 25th of November but important is that where WREU is serious about their social elemony. He congratulated women committee for observing this day on a very large scale. After that Dr. Sudhakar Sharma told that this issue should have been discussed not on a single day but should be on every day as well as Dr. M. Bhaskaran had addressed that this issue is not just related to this days but it is related from the olden time of Ramayana. They both have also thanked WREU (E&M) branch for awaring people related to this issue. At the end Ms. Com. P.S. Harsh, had made all gents to take oath by putting hand on heart in which they took promise to not to be violent against women and also will stop the other person who is doing violence against women and girls. More then 150 male and female employees had attended function with enthusiasm. This meeting was conducted by Mrs. P.S. Harsh and to make this program a big success Com. I.J. Ramwani , Com. Sunil Harsh and Com. R.K. Das executive member of WREU (E&M) DHD had putten there effort and supported for this program.

महिला विंग प्रधान कार्यालय जयपुर का मोबाइल से एसएम्एस द्वारा "कन्या बचाओ " तथा "महिलाओ के प्रति हिंसा और भेदभाव बंद करो" का विशेष अभियान

नार्थ वेस्टर्न रेलवे एम्प्लोईस यूनियन, महिला विंग , प्रधान कार्यालय जयपुर ने इनटरनेशनल ट्रांसपोर्ट वोर्केर्स फेडरेशन तथा एआइआरएफ के आह्वान पर २५ नवमबर को प्रधान कार्यालय के सभागार में महिलाओ के प्रति हिंसा, भेदभाव समाप्ति के अंतर राष्ट्रीय दिवस पर मोबाइल से एसएम्एस द्वारा "कन्या बचाओ " तथा "महिलाओ के प्रति हिंसा और भेदभाव बंद करो" का विशेष सन्देश देने का अभियान चलाया / कार्यक्रम में जीएलओ शाखा सचिव श्री विनीत मान विशेष अतिथि थे तथा अध्यक्षता श्रीमती किरण गुप्ता ने की जिसमे प्रधान कार्यालय, उत्तर पश्चिम रेलवे जयपुर में कार्यरत ४० महिलाओ ने भाग लिया/ कार्यक्रम का संयोजन एवं संचालन विभा तापडिया सहायक महामंत्री ने किया/ दोपहर ३ से ४.३० तक चले इस कार्यक्रम में श्री जी एल मीणा, सीटीआइ सीकर ने विशेष रूप से शेखावटी भाषा में दो कविताओ के माध्यम से एक अजन्मी बेगुनाह कन्या भ्रूण का मरने से पहले और बाद में उसकी रूह का अपने माता पिता के साथ संवाद की अभिव्यक्ति ऐसी मार्मिक और हृदय को छूने वाली थी की सभी का मन दर्द से भर गया/ श्रीमती नंदिनी पंजवानी ने कहा की हर महिला अपने घर परिवार में है, हमें उसे समझाना चाहिए की लड़का और लड़की में भेदभाव ना करे / हर महिला को कन्या भ्रूण को मरने और मरवाने वाले का विरोध करना चाहिए / श्री विनीत मान ने अपने संबोधन में कहा की हम पुरुष है लेकिन जब भी हम कन्या भ्रूण हत्या या महिला के प्रति हिंसा के बारे में देखते, पढ़ते या सुनते है तो मन घृणा से भर उठता है और ऐसे लोगो को प्रति आक्रोश से भर जाता है / हमारा प्रयास यही है की इस कार्यालय में जब भी किसी महिला को कोई भी परेशानी हो तो वह विभाजी से या यूनियन के पदाधिकारी से बेहिचक मिले और हमारा पूरा प्रयास रहेगा की हम उसकी समस्या का समाधान कर सके / उपस्थित महिलाओ ने भी महिला कक्ष, के सुविह्दा का विस्तार, बच्चो के लिए कार्यालय समय के दौरान देखभाल हेतु सुविधा आदि अन्य समस्याए भी रखी / विभा तापडिया ने मोबाइल से एसएम्एस द्वारा "कन्या बचाओ " तथा "महिलाओ के प्रति हिंसा और भेदभाव बंद करो" का विशेष सन्देश अपने हर परिचित को फोरवर्ड करने की हर महिला से गुजारिश करते हुए कहा की आम तौर पर हर व्यक्ति पुत्र प्राप्ति हेतु इश्वर से काली की प्रार्थना करता है लेकिन किसी भी वास्तु की जरुरत पड़ने पर वाही व्यक्ति धन के लिए माँ लक्ष्मी की, विद्या के लिए माँ सरस्वती की, शक्ति के लिए माँ दुर्गा या अम्बिका की, कष्ट निवारण के लिए माँ काली की प्रार्थना करता है, वे सभी देविया महिलाये ही है तो फिर क्यों वाही व्यक्ति चाहे वह पुरुष हो या स्त्री, एक कन्या को जनम लेने से पहले hi मार देने की सोच भी कैसे सकता है/ अंइनिट मान त में श्रीमती किरण गुप्ता ने सभी को धन्यवाद दिया / इस आयोजन को सफल बनाने के लिए श्री विनीत मान, श्री बी एन पुर्सवानी, श्री सुनील माथुर, श्री रामलाल मीना , श्री प्रेम प्रकाश, श्री अशोक अगरवाल और प्रधान कार्यालय जीएलओ शाखा के अन्य पदाधिकरियो ने अपना सक्रिय योगदान देते हुए कार्यक्रम को सफल बनाया/

Women’s Wing of North Western Railway Employees’ Union, Genaral manager’s office, Jaipur observed the International Day for Elimination of violence, harassment and discrimination against Women on 25th November in the Conference Hall of North Western Railway Head Quarter’s Office, Jaipur from 3 to 4.30 p.m. under the banner of North Western Railway Employees union on call of All India Railway Men’s Federation and International Transport Worker’s Federation and Hind Mazdoor Sabha. A week long special SMS campaign was launched with a message “SAVE THE GIRL CHILD” and “ STOP VIOLENCE AND DISCRIMINATION AGAINST WOMEN” . First it was forwarded to Comrade U.C. Tyagi - General Secretary of North Western Railway Employees Union, Comrade Shiv Gopal Mishra General Secretary AIRF by Vibha Taaparia , Assistant General Secretary of union , Secretary/Convenor of NWREU Women Wing and organizer of this program and then to 40 women participants present in the program. In her speech she stated that every person prays to God to give them a son and very few want a daughter. The same person prays to maa Lakshmi for wealth, to maa Saraswati for Knowledge, to maa Durga/ Ambika for Energy, to maa Kali for relief from enemies and troubles; these all divinities are females - Goddesses, then why kill the girl child and so she requested all the women participants to forward this message further to their friends, relatives and colleagues. It was also forwarded to other zonal office bearers of the union and women comrades all over India whose cell numbers were available. Every women promised to further forward the same to minimum 10 other persons. Two heart touching and mind blowing poems were presented by Mr. G.L. Meena Chief Ticket Inspector, Sikar, in Shekhawati Language depicting the dialogue between an unborn female foetus and her parents which revealed the grief and pain of the unborn girl child. Comrade Kiran Gupta , President women wing GM office jaipur was in chair , guest addressed the gathering saying that being a male we also feel hurt when we hear , read about. female infoeticide or any act of violence or harassment to women. Whenever any women working in this office has any problem do feel free to contact Vibha or myself and we will do all our best to solve the problem. Be united with union’s women comrades to strengthen yourself. Comrade Nandini Panjwani Vice president of Women Wing speaking on the occasion said that no women should discriminate between girl child and the boy child and the same should be conveyed and convinced to other women and men in our friends and relatives. In the end Kiran concluded the function with thanks giving and said that Every women should strongly oppose female infoeticide. The event was well managed with support of BN. Purswani, Ramlal Meena, Ashok Agarwal, Prem Prakash, Sunil Mathur and other office bearers of GLO branch.

"UN Day for Elimination of violance against Women" was followed in ICF in best manner. Pledge cards were issued to all staffs and made them wear the cards. White ribbons were also issued to all staff to wear. Awareness posters were pasted at various locations inside the factory and in the office premises. Pledge Card is shown here in picture. There was tremendous response from staff especially women for our initiative.

N.F.Railway Mazdoor Union observed International Day for elimination of Violance against women on 25th November in befitting manner. In the morning about 25 lady leaders of N.F.Railway Mazdoor Union headed by Smt Kalpana Devi Sharma and Sumita Saiba President and Secretary of the Ladies wing
       
visited all the offices of N.F.Railway Head Quarter at Maligaon and weared badges to the lady workers. At about 11.30 hrs hundreds of lady workers gathered at the Head Quarter premises for conducting the programme of plantation. The plantation programme was inaugurated by Smt. Leena Sharma, Chief Commercial Manager (FM) of N.F.Railway. Smt Lata Kumari Dy. Chief Vigilance Officer of N.F.Railway was also attended the programme along with other.

Celebration of International Women's Day by South Central Railway Mazdoor Union

The South Central Railway Mazdoor Union (SCRMU) an affiliate of All India Railwaymens Federation and Hind Mazdoor Sabha observed International Womens Day today i.e. on 8-3-2010 and conducted a meeting in the Rail Nilayam Auditorium at Secunderabad, in which several hundreds of Railway women workers and Railway women officials participated. The meeting was presided over by Mrs.P.Hymavathi V.Rao, Zonal Convenor, Womens Committee of SCRMU and Asst.General Secretary/SCRMU. Mr.M.S.Jayanth, General Manager, S.C.Railway and Mrs.Gayathri Jayanth, President, South Central Railway Womens Welfare Organisation were the Guests of Honour. Mrs.P.Hymavathi V.Rao in her report briefed the origin of International Womens Day and stated that it is the duty of each and every woman employee to protect the rights and privileges achieved through several struggles and also the need for more and more empowerment of women in Trade Union movement. Mr.M.S.Jayanth, General Manager, S.C.Railway while addressing the meeting expressed his happiness over the programme being conducted by the SCRMU and stated that women since Vedic period have been given utmost respect and values and the same respect and value should be continued in future also. He has also mentioned Ms.Maniben Kara had attained the position of President of AIRF with her efforts towards the welfare of working class. He lauded the efforts of SCRM Union in the matter of empowerment of women in Railway Trade Union movement. He wished the women employees of South Central Railway on the eve of centenary of International Womens Day. Mrs.Gayathri Jayanth, President, SCRWWO in her address stressed the need for empowerment of women in Trade Union movement and also stated that as the hands that rock cradle will rule the world we need to prove ourselves in every field. She complimented the Union for the efforts being put in towards the empowerment of women. Mr.Manoj Pande, Chief Personnel Officer, S.C.Railway has complimented the SCRMU for the efforts being put in towards empowerment of women in Railway Trade Union movement. Mrs.Chandrima Roy, Chief Public Relations Officer, S.C.Railway in her address stated that women need to mould themselves to get respect from every one and then we can bring back the vedic values of life and due place for women in society. Mr.V.P.R.Pillai, President, SCRMU highlighted the efforts of SCRMU, AIRF and HMS in bringing empowerment of women in Trade Union movement. Mr.Ch.Sankara Rao, General Secretary, SCRMU while stressing the need for empowerment of women, stated that the leadership of SCRMU is striving every nerve towards this end.

       

Mrs.Radha Variyar, FA&CAO, S.C.Railway has lauded the efforts of the leadership of SCRMU in mobilizing the women and conducting holding the programmes Mrs.Indira Devi, Principal, Railway Junior College, Secunderabad has stated that irrespective of their position women should be united and fight for preserving the rights achieved through struggles. Mrs.Uma Ranade, FA&CAO/G while expressing her happiness over the meeting stated that women should protect their self respect and try to move forward in the society along with men. Smt.B.Vani Kumari, SPO has sung a song on women and stated that the need of today is empowerment of woman in every field. Earlier Mrs.Radha Padmaja sung a prayer song and cultural programmes were held by Kala Vedika, cultural forum of SCRM Union in which Mimicry by Mimicry Srinivas, Songs by Mr.Vinod Kumar & party and Ms.Kallu Rajeswari and party has presented Andari Kosam Telugu Playlet, which enthralled the whole audience. While Mrs.N.Arundhati welcomed the gathering Mrs.V.Premalatha proposed vote of thanks. The meeting was also attended by Central and Divisional Office Bearers of SCRM Union among others.
